Electronic Prototypes R&D Lab reports that the Pro Electric II short circuit / open load sensing and reporting has proved to function as designed. Each module can detect both short circuit and open loads; this will eventually lead to providing the kit car driver with real-time information on lamp status such as brake light out or other critical information like fuel pump error.
ßeta units have this capability but our ßeta testers will have no way to view error status. Planning is underway to provide a way of viewing error status for production units.

Feedback from ßeta testers is pouring in and is helping us with the Pro Electric production design. Additionally, marketing has come back with suggestions that makes sense even to us geeks. Electronic Prototypes Initial Production Units (IPUs) will be designed for generic installation into “T” Bucket and AC Cobra style cars. IPU production is slated to start in the fourth quarter of ‘08 and be for sale second quarter of ‘09. Pro Electric units can be purchased through select car manufacturers.
